His death news shattered his readers and followers and they started paying tribute to this good soul. Buddhadeb took his last breath in a Kolkata hospital and passed away at the age of 85.
Buddhadeb Guha Death Reason
As per the sources, earlier this year in the month of April, Guha was tested positive with Covid-19 and was hospitalized for over a month. Later on, he was again admitted to the hospital recently with urinary and lung tract problems. As mention in the report, he demised around 11:30 PM on Sunday, 29th August 2021 and the cause of his death was due to post-covid complications after a huge heart attack.
Buddhadeb Guha was a Bengali writer of fiction and was born on 29th June 1936 in Calcutta and completed his graduation from St. Xavier’s College. In his early years, he spent his days in many districts which are now in Bangladesh. He also depicted those days in his Rivu series. By profession, he was a chartered accountant and was one of the popular writers who created the famous children’s character Rijuda and his adjunct Rudra, who explores jungles.
Forest and nature were recurrent themes in his short stories and novels. He is the best to recall for his novel Madhukori which is considered a milestone in Bengali literature. He tied the wedding knot to eminent Rabindra Sangeet exponent Ritu Guha who passed away in the year 2011. Buddhadeb has left behind two daughters. Guha received many awards including Ananda Purashkar in the year 1976 and then Sharat Puraskar and Shiromani Puraskar. He was a musician too.
His elder daughter, Maleni B Guha stated a post on her social media which reads that “Our beloved Buddhadev Guha is no more between us. He was blessed to be one with the angelic on the night of Janmashtami 2021. ” He wrote many novels such as Aainar Samne (Deys), Abhilash (Deys), Ababahika (Ananda Pub), Aborohi (Ananda Pub), Adbhut Lok (Sahityam), Alokjhari (Deys), and many others.
