Rythm is the most famous music bot on Discord. Youtube has sent a desist and cease to the possessors of Rythm, a bot that lets the users of Discord play music from the videos of Youtube and it is used by a large number of people who are nearly around 560 million people. The search giant wants to close down the Rythm bot within 7 days and the service is acquiesced by shutting down its bot Wednesday, 15th September 2021.
Presently, Rythm is installed on more than 21 million Discord servers alone. Rythm has a larger number of Discord users which are around 560 million which making this shutdown a vast blow to a core feature of Discord. The creator of Rythm bot, Yoav, in his discord message to The Verge said “One way or another way we know this was due to occurred eventually. That’s why we have begun working on something fresh and new a year before. Groovy receiving one just meant it would occur sooner instead of later.”
The team of Rythm bot is currently working on “something fresh and new in the space of music that we are very excited about.” informed by Yoav. There will be some form of relationship with Discord but presently the team is not fully ready to discuss more their forthcoming project just yet. Yoav said Rythm has been a full-time job and it took 16 servers with above than 4TB of RAM and over 1,000 CPU cores to power, the music of the Discord bot, adorn how famous the service had become.
Yoav explains that “I believe that now that we get the letter, all music bots will be getting the, too in the coming weeks and I strongly believe that all of them will be closed down soon.
