As we already know, where there’s water on Earth we will find life. We can live a few days without food but not without water. Doctors always give suggestions to everyone to boiled the water before drinking it because boiling is the surest method to kill disease-causing organisms, including viruses, bacteria, and parasites. Now the village of Plainfield is issued a warning to the residents to boil their water prior to using it for 2 days but why were are asked to do so? According to the reports, e. Coli was found in the water supply, the bacteria were first found on Wednesday and that’s concerning for one lady whose family was notified on Friday, 10th September 2021.
The name of the lady is Catherine Kopka and she gives a statement in which she stated that “My husband and kids and I all are used to drink water a lot and big water drinkers and I said “Think about the water we drank in the last three days. I think I am okay, but will it show up the next day? Will it show up on the day after tomorrow? I have no idea, so we are all just going to keep an eye on our fevers. Hopefully no stomach aches and no fevers, nausea.”
Leaders of the village stated that the inspections will be completed this weekend and after that, the hydrants will be flushed. When the E.Coli bacteria was discovered in the water of Plainfield, the village is placed under an emergency boil order till the next notice. The Mayor of Plainfield, John Argoudelis informed the Patch village staff sent a sample of water for testing when they discovered the bacteria on Wednesday and the positive results of the test came today and immediately residents were alerted of the critical situation.
Mayor Argoudelis stated a company is coming out Saturday, 11th September 2021 to investigate the source of the bacteria. The village’s ground storage tank and water towers will also be inspected. He said, “Our public works departments take great pride…that we provide great quality water to our inhabitants…so it is very disturbing that we have to deal with something that we believe is out of our control.”
202 District officials sent an alert in the afternoon of Friday and maybe the school will be cancelled on Monday as a result. Inhabitants are asked not to drink water sans 1st boiling it for at least 3 to 4 minutes which helps to kills the bacteria in the water. The official stated this should be done with making ice, washing dishes, drinking water, food preparation and brushing teeth. The boil order will last till two sets of bacteria samples are “determined satisfactory”. This bacteria is particularly harmful to those people who have weakened immune systems. The symptoms of the sickness include cramps, headaches, diarrhea and nausea.
