An American college football coach, Bobby Bowden passed away on 08 August 2021. The coach’s family is in deep grief as they are facing a big loss. Bobby’s death came out as a very big loss for the whole Florina state. He was one of the most prominent and renowned football coaches in Florina state. He had gained huge popularity and reputation in his whole career. Since the news of his demise broke out, all his loved ones and his students are deeply in shock and paying the tribute to him. Bobby’s death is confirmed by his son whose name is Terry, he said to The Associated Press that Bobby passed away at his residence on Sunday morning. Florida State also announced this news on social media handles. On July 21, it was revealed that Bobby had a terminal illness and then his family said that he had pancreatic cancer and was suffering from prostate cancer for ten years. After knowing about Bobby’s death, his friends and colleagues are sending their prayers and thoughts to his family. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Bobby Bowden was an American college football coach who was born on 08 November 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama. At the age of 13, he had rheumatic fever and he was hospitalized for six months. After discharge from the hospital, the doctor asked him to bed rest for a year. During that time, he listened to World War 2 reports on the radio. In the meantime, he also gained interest in college football by listening to the University of Alabama football on Saturday mornings.
He attended Woodlawn High School where he came out as a mind-blowing footballer. After completing school, he played as a quarterback for the University of Alabama and also fulfilled her dream to play for Crimson Tide. In 1976, he coached the Florina State Seminoles of Florida State University as head coach. He served there for 33 years. He was known as one of the greatest college football coaches of all time.
In 1949, he tied the knot with Ann Estock who is his childhood girlfriend. The couple was blessed with 6 children and 21 grandchildren. In October 2020, he was tested positive with the Covid-19 but then recovered from it. In July 2021, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and after a month he died on August 08, 2021. He was 91 at the time of his death.
As per the FSU Athletics, the Funeral service for Bowden is scheduled for 13 August 2021 in Capitol Rotunda and Moore Athletic Center from 2 PM-7 PM. On 14 August 2021, Bowden’s funeral service is held at the Tucker Civic Center at 11 AM and the doors will open for the public at 09:30 AM. Another funeral ceremony will be on August 15, 2021, from 4 PM- 6 PM. We hope that God will give strength to his family and friends. May his soul Rest In Peace.
