The legendary series of Cbeebies has been set in a fictional Scottish village having happy-go-lucky characters consisting of Suzie Sweet and Miss Hollie which are the favorites among the young viewers. The name of the series is Bablamory which ran from 2002 to 2005. The show owns several awards, one of which was the Best Pre-school Live-action series at the BAFTA Children’s award in the year 2004 and we are here to discuss the story of the cast of the show.
Balamory Cast Then And Now
Miss Hoolie- Julie Wilson Nimmo
She was a smiling teacher who narrated the kid’s drama and she was always seen in all green outfit in the show, she was played by the actress Julie Wilson Nimmo, she is 46 years of age as of now, she has made the long journey from kids telly to be a part of the drama Still game which was being telecasted two years ago. She is currently working in a theatre at Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre.
Archie The Inventor – Miles Jupp
Miles Jupp was playing the role of a wacky inventor who lived in a huge pink castle and used to wear a purple kilt. He is a comedian who has enjoyed regular TV appearances, he came in different series such as ‘the thick of it, ‘outnumbered’, ‘Michael McIntyre’s comedy roadshow, and also in the Netflix original ‘The Crown’.
It has been revealed by Miles that he went for a stand-up comedy show to perform a gag at the Edinburgh festival and he had to cut out the rude gags as he saw young Balamory fans in the audience.
Penny Pocket – Kim Tserkezie
She has the talent for Mathematics and she ran the village shop and cafe with Suzie, the role also won her an award for the reputation of disabled people, after she was done with the show, she became a writer and a producer as she opened up her own company, last year she was seen starring in a short film naming ‘obsession’, she earned two gongs at the Royal Television Society for her role as Jasmine.
Spencer The Painter – Rodd Christensen
Smiling Spencer was given the task of painting the colorful houses in the show Balamory but he also went on to make music with his famous ladder which had musical steps. After the show, he became a driver for a theatre school stagecoach as he admitted to kids recognizing him from the show many times.
Pc Plum – Andrew Agnew
He was the friendly neighborhood officer who patrolled the crime-free village of Balamory as he dreamt of becoming a detective one day. After the show he went on to direct many of the kid’s programs and had his own live theatre show, he has also been the part of Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, and also Peter Pan and he is already lined up to appear in Cinderella which is going to be released this Christmas.
It seems like the cast of the show are doing pretty good in their personal life and they have been working in the industry since then which seems so wonderful seeing all of them happy in their lives.
