Badminton Asia Team Championships 2022 Malaysia: Badminton Asia has already affirmed that the Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) 2022 will be conducted from 15th February to 20th February 2022 at the Setia City Convention Centre in Selangor. Yesterday, Badminton Asia stated in a released statement that “BAM will apply strictly and severe health protocols as per the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) standard and regulations of the Malaysia government. Athletes and officials from throughout Asia are going to participate and will compete for the title of the best team in Aisa.
With mechanized places in the popular and prestigious 2022 Thomas Cup and Uber Cup Finals up for seizes, Malaysia has no intention of closing the gate on independent shuttlers when they contend in the Badminton Asia Team Championship (BATC) 2022 at the Setia City Convention Centre which is in Shah Alam.
The teams who qualify or are eligible for the semi-finals of the BATC 2022 will instinctively qualify for the 2022 Thomas Cup and Uber Cup Finals to be conducted in Bangkok, Thailand in the month of May. Because of this the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), as per Datuk Kenny Goh the secretary-general will bank on their best players to carry the challenge of the nation.

More keenly, he stated BAM would not reject the independent shuttlers an opportunity to join the national squad for the tournament, which is managed by the Selangor State Sports Council together with the help of state government, as hosts, apart from getting the cooperation of BAM and Badminton Asia.
He said when met after the BATC media conference on Thursday “We will take a look at the available players, even including those from inside and outside BAM who is the best. We will look at several factors, including in terms of the contribution of the player and also from the tactical aspect due to this is a game of the team.
“I am always in conversation with both the coaching directors, so they inform me that our preparation is fine, and whilst we only knew about the tournament recently, the players are all set and will surely give their best.”
The squad of men emerged BATC 2020 runners-up after losing to Indonesia in the final whereas the team of women fell to Japan in the semi-finals. Though their success in reaching the semi-finals was sufficient for both the teams to obtain automatic slots to the 2020 Thomas Cup and Uber Cup Finals.
In the BATC 2022, Malaysia and 9 other teams- South Korea, Indonesia, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Kazakhstan will be competing in order to confirm their automatic spots in the finals of Uber Cup and Thomas Cup.
