In this horrifying crime, a 40-year old lady was apprehended then released after the body of a 3-month-old infant was discovered wrapped in plastic and stuffed in a freezer on Wednesday night, 19th January 2022. Cops made the scary discovery as they searched a home in Corowa, 60km west of Albury on the NSW-Victoria border, after reports of a missing child. The lady was apprehended at the incident scene. The detectives of homicide have now launched a probe and the house is being searched by specialist forensic officers. After the incident was reported, the lady was taken to Albury Police Station and was helping police with inquiries prior to she was later released sans charge while the probe continues.
The body of the little boy was discovered at 10:00 PM after officers were informed of “welfare concerns” for the infant by a family member. An NSW Police spokesman said “Officers searched the house and located the dead body of an infant. Probes are going on.” Local investigators have been joined by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad to establish a Strike Force Walumil to investigate the demise of a child.

An autopsy examination will be conducted to determine the real cause of the demise. A lady at the house where the body was discovered said she could not comment about the investigation. She said, “I can not say anything. Thank You.” Federation Council Mayor Pat Bourke stated that the community was sharing a sense of destruction over the tragedy overnight.
