On 01 June 2021, a Covid patient passed away whose name is Giyaz Uddin. The patient was from Pipal Pukhuri village. He died due to the shortage of oxygen. The patient was admitted to the Udali Model Hospital in Assam. After his death, his dear ones started assaulting the doctor whose name is Dr. Seuj Kumar Senapati. The relatives of the patient kicked, punched, and pounded the doctor very badly. The doctor is admitted to another hospital, he is stable now.
The whole incident was recorded on a camera. After seeing the video clip, everyone is really shocked to see them beating a doctor brutally. The video went viral over the night. After the incident, the accusers have been arrested by the police. They have searched over the night and get them behind the bars. This violence against the doctor was heart-wrenching and many people are amazed after hearing about this. It is very bad that people are behaving like this with our saviors.

In an interaction with media, Dr. Senapati said that on Tuesday, the attendant who was with the patient come to him and told him that the patient’s condition is very serious and since morning, he didn’t also pass urine. Hearing this, he rushed to the patient’s room and found him dead. As soon as he delivered the news to the patient’s relatives, they started abusing him. Other doctors also tried to save him and he locked himself in a room but they break it and assaulted him badly. They were around 30 people.
The president of the Indian Medical Association, Dr. JA Jayalal is criticizing the whole incident after knowing about it. Some officers are demanding to the government to take strict actions against the accusers including the Members of the Assam chapter of AMSA (Assam Medical Services Associations).
