The couple uploaded identical decelerations on Instagram on Sunday and their posts read that “Shukar Alhamdulillah. With the grace of Allah Almighty and duas of our parents, we announce our Imam Zamin-engagement. May Allah SWT and Ahlebait keep us protected and this happy forever, Aameen. Keep us in your prayers.”
There had been many hearsays about the duo- people did not know what their relationship was at all. Some individuals believed they were cousins, some stated they were pals, while others believed they were romantically linked. Asim also took to Twitter to clarify that he had never labeled Merub as his “sister”, as was reportedly being asserted by some based on a doctored screenshot.

He tweeted that “To all reposting a screenshot of a “news channel” that stated I had labeled Merub as my sister (because) of a fake chat a fan had made, I clarified it a year ago.” The singer continued “Reminder, since this an adorable moment of my life that I want to cherish. You should be happy for others.”
Ali clarified that they surely were not related in an interview in the month of December, “We are not step-siblings, we are not cousins. I do not know, that is all we are great family friends and have known each other since childhood. My brother is his best friend and our mothers are best friends.”
Congratulatory messages have started pouring in under both their posts from their celebrity friends, including Ayaz Samoo, Aima Baig, and Sajal Aly.
