The 8th class student has also come up with a phone application called “Kavach” and it permits pupils and parents to report incidents of bullying anonymously, giving chances to counselors and schools to courteously moderate and take action. The incident of the girl being bullied “got registered in my remembrance and I still cannot forget her face”, she was frightened and felt helpless, stated Ms. Jolly, who was 9 years old at that time. She stated “I was attending the school annual day when my pals decided to bully the 6-year-old girl who they discovered annoying. They walked up to her and began calling her names and laughed at her.
“Soon, I realized how the common issues are and watched several other children of my age being sufferers of bullying and losing confidence,” stated Ms. Jolly whose social initiative not only made her the youngest participant to pitch her entrepreneurial idea on the Television reality show Shark Tank India but also landed her a funding offer of Rs 50 Lakh. The Pathways School, Gurugram, a pupil wants to construct a strong network of anti-bullying ambassadors, who will track the progress of those impacted directly or indirectly through the platform and application.
Ms. Jolly informed PTI that “I have been running the ABS digital platform for over 3 years with a goal of spreading awareness about bullying which leaves many blemished and desolated. The platform acts as a community where specialists come together to organize one-on-one sessions in schools against bullying.”
