Shehla Khan the wife of Amjad recalled the entire incident, which has happened prior to the shooting of his movie “The Great Gambler” (released in the year 1979). The actor needed a procedure called a tracheostomy (a surgical procedure to facilitate breathing), and the superstar Amitabh inscribed hospital papers so doctors could perform a tracheotomy on Amjad.
Sharing the dreadful incident, she stated that the accident occurred in Sawantwadi near Goa when she was 6 months pregnant and it was a highly serious accident. As she was still dealing with the accident, Amjad was suffocating for breath and bleeding internally as 13 of his ribs and femur were broken. Whilst his condition was more severe, he was “more worried” about her and the loss of the child.
