In the recent news, there has been a joint statement that has been given by Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan that they are getting a divorce, they have stated that they are going to be raising and nurturing Azad Rao Khan and they are going to be doing it together, the announcement has been done by the couple as the couple is going to get a divorce after 15 years of marriage and they have stated that they will be co-parenting their son, they are going to be continuing their partnership on Paani foundation and all of the other professional projects that they are passionate about.

It was further stated in the statement that the couple have gotten separated a while ago and the statement stated that despite living separately, the couples are going to nurture and raise their son together, they have stated that they have been planning the separation for a while now and they finally feel comfortable enough to finalize the separation and are going to be formalizing the arrangements and it has been further stated that that they are going be sharing their lives as extended families and they have further stated that they are fully devoted to nurturing their son Azad whom they are going to be raising together.
They further stated that they are going to be continuing with the collaborations that they do when comes to film making, they are also going to be taking care of Paani Foundation together and all of the other projects that the couple feels pretty passionate about, and the statement continued as they said that they are pretty grateful to their families and friends to understand their situation and to understand the evolution of their relationship and they further stated that without these people they would have been really insecure about taking this leap,
They ended the statement by stating that they require the blessings of their well-wishers and this divorce is not an end but a complete new beginning of a new journey. The couple married in the year 2005 on 28th December, he was previously married to a girl naming Reena Dutta with whom he had 2 children, Ira khan, and Junaid Khan.
